Anyway, BodyBugg said I'd only taken about 3,500 steps today. It really shows spike in burned calories in the morning when I get ready and when I walk up stairs at work or when I get up from my desk in the middle of the day to get lunch. It's basically a graphical report of how sedentary my life is.
I had been thinking of doing some yoga or pilates tonight, since I worked until about 8pm and figured it was too late to walk. But when I saw that BodyBugg was basically calling me a loser at walking, I laced up my Brooks and headed out. It was a dark and windy night already, and it felt lovely and a bit scary as I worked my way up to 5,736 steps. It gave me the opportunity to catch up on some podcasts. I usually listen to them during my morning commute. Right now, I'm hooked on "Stuff You Missed in History Class" and it comes from the people who have been bringing you "How Stuff Works" for years. I want to write for these people, and it turns out they do entertain submissions. I'm behind on the series, and right now they're talking about the 2008 election. I guess my takeaway from tonight was that Nixon not only lost the election due to his washed out appearance on TV during the first televised debate, but his washed-out appearance was due to a staph infection. Thought you'd like to know.
