My friend Amy and her boyfriend Kerry flew in from Portland, Oregon, yesterday to visit me for Amy's birthday, which is today. They know all about my 90 Days/90 Workouts and agreed to walk around Town Lake this afternoon. It was a much-needed walk because we'd had brunch at Juan in a Million. Three of us had Don Juan breakfast tacos and none of us could finish them all. That is definitely one of the best deals in town. A huge plate of goodness that costs $3.60. That and you get a fabulous handshake when you enter and leave the place.
After walking around Town Lake, past the Stevie Ray Vaughan statue and the reggae fest that was going on all weekend, we drove over to Darrell K. Royal Memorial Stadium - home of the Texas Longhorns. After more walking around campus, we found ourselves staring straight up at the UT Tower. The campus is really beautiful, and I notice new landmarks about it on each visit. I've run through campus before but never noticed the beautiful fountain. And all the statues. We walked inside the UT Tower to use the facilities, and it's so old school. Even the public restroom stalls are made of marble. So quaint. As we walked out, Amy mentioned there are probably a lot of ghosts roaming that building. Yeah. Probably. But that is another blog.
