This morning I woke up and took one of those morning constitutionals that one typically sees a retiree taking around the neighborhood (not to be confused with the Urban Dictionary definition for this). I see these people on my way to work sometimes and think, "I wish I could just get up and enjoy a walk in the morning." Of course, my fantasy would continue on with me sitting on the couch with coffee and watching Ellen, but I'm 35 and still in my prime working-for-the-man years. Other than work that is keeping me from enjoying this morning time, I like to sleep as late as possible - sometimes to the point that I come to work with my hair rolled in curls, which really just means that I didn't want to wake up in time to wash it because that process would take longer than to roll day-old clean hair.
I walked through another little route this morning that I've never visited before. Naturally, I saw at least two grandmothers walking on their constitutionals. We waved and said good morning. Maybe I can meet some new friends on another morning constitutional. Or just wander around listening to podcasts, smelling roses and letting other people envy me as they see me on their way to the office.
